Selectively constructing sandwich-like heterostructure of CdS/PbTiO3/TiO2 to improve visible-light photocatalytic H2 evolution

چکیده

Fast migration and efficient spatial separation of photogenerated charges in photocatalytic materials are indispensable to solar water splitting reactions. Here, we construct a three-phase heterostructure CdS/PbTiO3/TiO2 by selectively depositing CdS TiO2 at oppositely poled crystal facets PbTiO3 using single-domain ferroelectric PbTiO3. The has matching band edge alignments strong interfacial connections different moieties. combines the electrical fields because their peculiar microstructures, which provide driving force throughout whole bulk separate charges. Almost two orders magnitude improvement visible-light-driven H2 production been realized compared with bare PbTiO3/TiO2, showing efficiency charge heterostructure. idea combining ferroelectrics potential light capture semiconductor provides paradigm accurately design pathways, bringing step closer splitting.
